Compile features and export fonts
Compilation and export use a saved, clean source and the connected bridge's advertised capabilities. They use diagnostic/artifact jobs, separately from the conversation's live-edit card. Identify the font and intended instance first.
Check feature compilation
Ask to compile the saved features and report diagnostics without changing or
saving the font. The agent uses feature_compile in supported saved or live mode.
A completed job can still contain compiler rejection: inspect report.success
and its diagnostics. Compiler acceptance does not establish exported shaping.
These diagnostic results cannot be applied, accepted or discarded as edits.
Prepare an export
Prepare an OTF export of my Regular instance. Show the verification results and do not publish files yet.
The agent resolves an exact persistent instance ID through instance reads; instance names can repeat. Supported formats are OTF/TTF and supported containers are plain, WOFF and WOFF2, subject to negotiated static/variable/web capabilities. Variable export and TTF impose their own generation-flag constraints; use the export contract for details.
Generation runs against the saved snapshot in an external Glyphs worker. Outputs remain in private staging. In 2.0.4, FontTools table/container checks and HarfBuzz shaping run in the private server runtime; they do not require those packages in the default Glyphs Python. Glyphs still supplies native compilation. Verification parses each file and checks required tables, outline type, variable state and container. Requested shaping cases need the shaping capability; absent cases are not evidence of feature behavior.
Publish the verified files
Review the artifact manifest, warnings, file sizes/hashes and verification
results. When ready, authorize publication to a new absolute directory.
accept_job rechecks the clean source and staged files, then publishes without
overwriting an existing directory. The receipt binds the source, destination and
manifest. This publishes local files; it does not upload them.
Export artifacts cannot be applied to the open font. Discard releases private staging without changing it. On uncertain publication, check the existing job and destination evidence rather than exporting or publishing again automatically. Saving your Glyphs source is a separate action.
